How to Measure Yourself - Size Guide

Your Vital Statistics are made up of Bra/Cup size, Waist size and Hip size and written in the format Bra Size-Waist-Hips. For example: 36C-24-36

To check your bra size, you need only take two measurements which are -

1. Under bust Measurement (Band size)

Run a measuring tape around your back and under your bust, keeping it level, and without pinching, and take the size in inches:

If this is an odd number, add 5 - If it's an even number, add 4 - now you have your bra size!

For example, if your under bust measurement is 31 inches, add 5 to obtain bra size of 36, or if your under bust measurement is 28 inches, add 4 giving a bra size of 32.

2. Over bust Measurement

Wearing your best fitting bra, measure around the fullest part of your bust to determine your cup size. Don't squish em unless you want your bra to squish em too!

If the bust measurement: is:

1" less than your bra size gives Cup size AA.
The same as your bra size gives Cup size A.
1" more gives Cup size B
2" more gives Cup size C
3" more gives Cup size D
4" more gives Cup size DD
5" more gives Cup size E
6" more gives Cup size F (there is no EE)
7" more gives Cup size FF
8" more gives Cup size G
9" more gives Cup size GG

and so on through H, HH, etc

Here's an example:

With an under bust (band) measurement of 29" add 5" giving a bra size of 34"

Then take your over bust measurement:

if it's 34" then you have an A cup = Bra fitting of 34A
if it's 35" then you have a B cup = Bra fitting of 34B
if it's 36" then you have a C cup = Bra fitting of 34C

These notes aim to provide general indication of your bra size. However, the best guide is a bra you already wear which is comfortable. Please also bear in mind that sizes do vary between manufacturers and between different styles of bra. In addition please note that the older you are, you may need to be more generous when you measure yourself.

Waist Size:

Your waist size should be measured at your waistline. This is usually the narrowest measurement 8" to 9" above your hips (Petites, 7").

Hips:

Your hip size should be measured at the fullest part of your hips, approximately 8" to 9" below your waistline (Petites, 7").

Convert your measurements to a dress size:
